The best place to get good views of both these sparrow is the State boat launch at the East River marsh in Madison. Both are also at Hammonasset but it’s harder to see them well there.

Closer to you, Sherwood Island has saltmarsh sparrows, though not many. Tina Green would be better placed than me to suggest how to see them there. Both species are in the marshes at Milford Point, but they can be hard to see from land. The fall is the best time at Milford as they can be in the Spartina along the beach. By late Sept, Nelson’s is also a good bet there.
