As part of a project to develop updated, accurate checklists of the birds of each county in the state, the Arizona Field Ornithologists has just posted the updated list for Pinal County on its website<http://www.azfo.org/documents/PinalCo.Checklist062018--final.pdf>. Last year it posted the list for Coconino County. The new Pinal County list includes seasonal and abundance codes for the 422 species documented in the county and notes the 154 breeding species. Of the species documented in the county 50 are on the Arizona Bird Committee’s Review List, and 55 are on the sketch details list. An article describing the particular characteristics of Pinal County and the process entailed in finding and deciding whether species should be included in the checklist or not has also been posted in Arizona Birds<http://arizonabirds.org/sites/default/files/articles/arizona-birds-online-checklist-birds-pinal-county-draft3.pdf>, the AZFO's online journal.
