I checked out the north end of the Causeway from Sunset Point in Mandeville last night looking for hordes of Martins There were a couple thousand birds at most, and most were a considerable distance from the pier. There were no clumps or groups of birds out there, but they did seem to bunch up on the shore, sitting on light poles and such, before heading out. There were definitely adult males among them.
