We visited Taylor Fork early this morning, driving the road to the forks of Lightening Creek and Cache Creek. Also up Wapiti Creek to the trailhead. Most interesting sighting for me was the MacGillivray’s Warbler pictured below. Other birds:

Lark Sparrow
Cassin’s Finch
Song Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
Yellow Warbler
Pine Siskin
Hairy Woodpecker
Gray Catbird
Sandhill Crane
Spotted Sandpiper
American Dipper
many Mountain Bluebirds including juveniles out of the box
multitudes of Tree Swallows
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Golden-crowned Kinglet
American Robin
Bronzed Cowbird

The water in Taylor Fork is starting to clear, but still carrying a load of Bentonite silt, perhaps accounting for no Bald Eagles or Ospreys sighted.
