This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for June 22.

An apparent AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER was at Long Beach Harbor not far from the Queen Mary on June 12. Google Earth coordinates for the exact spot are 33.738920, -118.204419.

Two PIGEON GUILLEMOTS were seen from Pt. Dume in Malibu on June 17.

A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was observed along Ballona Creek upstream from the Lincoln crosssing through June 16. This is undoubtedly one of the birds most often seen at the nearby Ballona Freshwater Marsh.
