I whiffed once again today. It's likely smarter than those of us who ventured out in this weather!

Has anyone seen the King Rail today?

I luckily re-found the KING RAIL this morning at 7 AM.  He was in the wet grasses amongst the trees close to the shoreline, about 100 feet west of the pier.  The remainder of the birders and photographers were further west down the beach waiting for the bird, seen there earlier this morning, to reappear.  I phoned Luis M. and he and all quickly came over and I believe about a dozen folks got on the bird.

This was my fourth attempt for this single species.  A nice Father’s Day treat.
