Subject: [VA-bird] Great Falls NP Bird Walk 06/17/2018 (Fairfax County)
Following is the tally from Sunday's weekly bird walk at Great Falls National Park, which identified approximately 38 species and included 8 participants. The morning dawned warm and bright with light overcast, and with the hint of sultriness in the air that accompanies summer's humidity. And, in recognition of a father's job well done -- perfect timing indeed for Fathers' Day -- the juvenile Bald Eagles are now absent from the Conn Island nest.
For participants:  if you did not receive, but would like, a shared copy of the original eBird report, please don't hesitate to contact me.
The walk meets at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, rain or shine, in front of the snack bar/concession stand of the Great Falls Park visitors' center; it does not take place, though, during electrical storms, heavy snows, or when the trails are icy. All birders are welcome!
