Subject: [obol] Curry Co. WB Nuthatch
Christie, a friend and I took a hike on 6/7/2018 to Biscuit
Hill. This is in the Kalmiopsis area (not official wilderness) in
extreme southeastern Curry County. The landscape is austere
ultramafic (serpentine/ peridotite) thin forest and shrub though
there are granitic patches very close (<1 mile) that support
closed-canopy forest. Elevations on the ridge vary from about 3200
to 3800 feet

Birds of note:
* 2 Mountain Chickadee
* A pair of White-Breasted Nuthatch bringing food items into a
nest cavity in a snag.
* 1 Sotty Grouse
