Thanks to Pete and Tim for posting - I observed either 21 or 22 Black Bellied Whistling Ducks from 7:20 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. today, Friday @ Nash Road Pond, Scott City.
They flew as a group twice while I observed across the main AB/Airport road, perhaps to the grain pile, returning in about 10 minutes - they settled in a different places in the pond each time upon return.
The group was initially in the large dead tree on the left side of the pond, facing the pond from the main AB/Airport road.

Tip - if they are resting in the very back of the pond towards the small point - you can see them much better and closer if you walk a short distance down Nash road, there are openings in the foliage.

Few photos to come. Gorgeous ducks.
