Just a short hike at Skokie Lagoons this evening, battling the mosquitos. Of note, the RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues in the same spot - pretty sure I saw it disappear into a cavity. Hopefully nesting here. Also, had 3 singing PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS, including one scoping out a probable nest site. A WOOD THRUSH was singing on the island as well. Good birding.
