Just a short hike at Skokie Lagoons this evening, battling the mosquitos.
Of note, the RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues in the same spot - pretty sure
I saw it disappear into a cavity. Hopefully nesting here. Also, had 3
singing PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS, including one scoping out a probable nest
site. A WOOD THRUSH was singing on the island as well. Good birding.
