Subject: [CT Birds] Barkhamsted: Atlasing along the Indian Council Caves Trail (Tunxis Trail)
Highlights were five singing Canada Warblers, a Black-billed Cuckoo directly overhead, and our first pink Lady's Slipper of the year.

The former was singing the standard song from the middle of his territory, while the interloper sang the periphery song, as if probing the first bird's boundaries and thereby triggering the attack. Chestnut markings on the two birds were visible and corresponded exactly to the illustrations of the two male cohorts on Plate 10 of the Peterson Field Guide to Warblers.
