Subject: Black-bellied Whistling Ducks
The BBWDs continue at Nash Pond in Scott City. While I was admiring 15 of
them this morning, a guy from the Port Authority across the road came over
to ask what they’re called. He says that a few have come every spring for
four years or so, but starting last year the numbers have increased. They
store corn before shipping in a large pile across AB to the north, and he
said the BBWDs fly back and forth between the pond and that corn pile.
