Subject: [MASSBIRD] Some Burrage Pond sightings today
At Burrage Pond this morning with my sister in law, we found
6 great blue herons
1 bald eagle, appeared to be first year
1 sandhill crane
2 or 3 greater yellowlegs
1 eastern kingbird
8 tree swallows
5? Common yellowthroat
1 hooded warbler - this bird was singing from an isolated chokecherry on a
dike in the middle of the bogs. It briefly flew up to the top of a tall
shrub and then departed.
15? Yellow warblers
6 song sparrows
X red winged blackbirds
3 bobolinks - the first I remember seeing here
1 orchard oriole
3 baltimore orioles

Notable by their absence were marsh wrens and swamp sparrows.
