Subject: [birders] Nesting bird in west pond, Gallup Park
West of canoe livery, across GP road, beyond first observation deck
(w/green public-use scope.). Nest is on a small (1'x1'?) island of sticks,
midway between deck and cattails to west. Could barely make out bird
w/bins in rain. Seemed small (grebe?), w/pointed yellowish beak-bill and
ruddy breast. Dark (black? brown?) head. In midst of swooping swallows.

Thanks, and good birding!
