We visited Spring Valley again and found one crane in the creek bottom. The bird flew to a recently plowed field where it blended in and barely could be located with binoculars. Most expected species were back, excepting Brewer’s Sparrows. Two Soras calling at the Sod Farm Marsh and many Yellow-headed Blackbirds. CMC Slough is drying up and the grass is getting taller, only shorebirds were Wilson’s Phalaropes.
