Subject: [CT Birds] East Rock Park
East Rock, New Haven - May 10, 2018 —
Wilson’s Warbler (male), found on the Covered Bridge/Mill River Trail at the bend (immediately next to the fallen and diced Black Willow). Observed from 9:25 to 9:30 A.M. as the bird foraged in Virginia Creeper vines at eye level and to within 5 feet.
Also, Spotted Sandpiper, Yellow Warblers, Black-and-white Warblers, Black-throated Green Warbler, Northern Parulas, Yellow-throated Vireo, Warbling Vireo nest building, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, fully adult Bald Eagle.
Rice Field/Giant Steps: Red-eyed Vireo, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, pair of Scarlet Tanagers, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Indigo Bunting, Blackburnian Warbler, Black-and-white Warblers, Worm-eating Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Chestnut Sided Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warblers.
West Rock Ridge: singing Blue-winged Warbler among other species.
