9 am;temperature 62F, wind calm. Spent 1.5 hrs. alone. No other birders
seen. Saw Robins, Catbirds, Cardinals, Flocks of noisy Blue Jays,
Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, Veery, Black & White Warbler,
Yellow Warbler (heard not seen), 3 warbler sp. chasing each other(maybe
Common Yellowthroats), Titmouse, Great Egret, D-C Cormorants, Common
Grackles, 3 male Cowbirds(in thickets, probably searching for warbler
nests), Baltimore Oriole, Chickadee, and Red-Winged Blackbird. Unless I
missed a few, it appears most of the good warblers seen over the last few
days have flown the coop for parts unknown.
This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) for the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut.
