Subject: [CT Birds] Ellington yard and question on chipping sparrow activity
Now I have seen two females, so two of my three or four pairs of rose-breasted grosbeaks are back. Also my resident catbird is back.


I have more chipping sparrows than usual this year. I saw a pair of them on my seed feeders which are on poles. I cannot recall ever seeing chipping sparrows feeding off the ground before. Is this unusual behavior?
