Subject: [ia-bird] Chats, Henslow's, and White Eyes back at Pleasant Creek
The Yellow-Breasted Chats are back at Pleasant Creek Lake near Palo (Linn
County). Take the Strawn Road access on the West end of the lake and park
on the West end of the large parking lot. You will likely hear them as
soon as you get out of the car, as they are very loud. If not take the
trail west from the parking lot and you will soon hear them. There are
White-Eyed Vireos in this area also. If you go east toward the Equestrian
area to the shelter buillding, you will see what is referred to as the
"Bowl Area" which is a large meadow area. This area has nesting Henslow's
Sparrows. I didn't find any Bobolink there yet, but they will come.
