The following birds of note were reported this past week from Presque Isle S.P., Pa. unless noted otherwise.

Surf Scoter 12; April 30 to at least May 5; Beach 11

Red-necked Grebe 1; May 1; head of Presque Isle Bay

American Bittern up to 7; through the week; Niagara Pond

Least Bittern 1; May 5; Gull Point Trail

Sandhill Crane 1; periodically through the week; east end of the park

Piping Plover pair; all week; Gull Point. this is the returning pair that successfully nested last year.

Willet 40; May 2; Beach 11; record high count for the county

Snowy Owl 1; to at least May 2; Gull Point

Brewster's Warbler 1; May 4; Fry's landing

Clay-colored Sparrow 1; May 5; Fry's landing

Henslow's Sparrow 1; May 5; Thompson Circle; possibly the first confirmed record for the park and the first in the county in many years.

Summer Tanager 1 first year male; May 5; east Erie
1 adult male; May 5; Erie

Dickcissel 1; May 5; Ranger's station; first county record in many years.
