Subject: [ia-bird] Boone Co. phalaropes & godwit
In a flooded grassy field adjacent to the eastern tract of Harrier Marsh
this morning were* 9 Wilson's Phalaropes* (FOY) and *1 Marbled Godwit *(FOY).
There was also a huge flock (250-300) flock of yellowlegs, although with
the light behind them at a long distance it was difficult to determine if
it was a mixed flock or all one species. Also, viewing was from the
shoulder of Hwy 30 which had extremely heavy truck traffic, so I didn't
park there long, for fear of getting hit.
