I took the baby out in the stroller this morningbefore the rain to
Washington Park. The Merlins that have nested in the Park for the last few
years seem to have elected to go somewhere else this spring, and one of
their old nests has been repurposed by some of the local Cooper’s Hawks.
Last night’s migration brought a number of new arrivals for the park,
including multiple black and white warblers, Great crested and Least
Flycatchers, many yellow-rumped warblers and ruby-crowned kinglets, and
one each of Black-throated blue and chestnut-sided warblers, Blue-headed
vireo, and Wood Thrush.
