I walked around the east end of the Mall at lunch. The highlight were (2) Northern waterthrushes at the NMAI pond. Also there was a Hermit Thrush, as well as grackles, robins, etc. and some loudly singing White-throated sparrows (I presume they are getting ready to leave).
There were plenty of birds at the National Botanic Garden as well, including several Grey catbirds
