Subject: [birders] Barred Owls at Aquinas College
Friends,

I'm a Grand Rapidian who follows this list per the recommendation of Bob
Tarte from his book *Feather Brained*. It's a great read for anyone who
enjoys self-deprecating birding humor. Bob also does a wonderful job of
sprinkling in game-changing birding resources like this e-mail list.

A colleague of mine, Kevin Tempelman, was riding his bike through the
campus of Aquinas College last night and stumbled upon a family of Barred
Owls. He said the two fledglings were hopping around on the branches. The
mother sat on a tree nearby, and the father later flew in with a rabbit.
Luckily Kevin had his camera on him and knows how to use it! Enjoy the
photos Kevin was able to capture.

They were spotted on a drive along the north edge of Wilcox Park leading
back to one of the dorms.
