Subject: IBET Surprises in Robinson Woods (Along Des Plaines between Lawrence and Irving Park)
Spent 90 minutes in the local woods today after work.

25 to 30 Palm Warblers working their way down the path everyone uses.
Could not take 10 steps without seeing a few more flitting from tree to the
ground.

2 Blue Birds

2 Pine Warblers

3 Cowbirds

20 to 25 Robins

11 Yellow Rumps

1 Nashville Warbler

1 Yellow Warbler

1 Blue Jay

1 Turkey Vulture

And the birds of the day 1 Solitary Sandpiper and 1 Spotted Sandpiper
working the mudflats just south of Lawrence.

I have never seen a sandpiper along this stretch of the bank of the Des
Plaines River in over 10 years of walking through here. Combine this with
seeing, never seen before, 3 flocks of Blue Winged Teal this spring along
the same stretch points to a better environment happening along the river.
