Subject: [ia-bird] SW Thrush, RB Grosbeak, and RB Nuthatch - Iowa City
The Red-breasted Nuthatch made a very brief visit to trees in my back yard
this afternoon, and the Rose-breasted Grosbeak sat for about 30 seconds on a
safflower feeder . The Swainson's Thrush has been hanging around below my
feeders for most of the day.

This morning's first of the season warbler walk in Hickory Hill Park was an
auspicious start - 4 warbler species (Palm, Yellow-rumped, Nashville, and
Black-and-White). Other highlights were lots of Swainson's Thrushes, Brown
Thrasher, Gray Catbird, several Broadwing Hawks flying over, Great-Crested
Flycatcher, Blue-headed Vireo, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher.
