Tuesday Evening Birders kicks off tomorrow, and I look forward to seeing some friendly faces at our meet up. I’m guest guiding with Juliet Berger and the usual stalwart mix of Washtenaw birding veterans, so we’ll look to have some fun and find some early migrant birds.
We meet at 6pm, on the northwest side of Ann Arbor, at the Miller Road park-and-ride lot just off the M-14 expressway at Miller Road. With a quick introduction and overview, we’ll consolidate into fewer cars and build our birding caravan aiming to leave the parking lot by 6:15.
I think we’ll have a good mix of birds. New migrants are appearing daily, so in addition to brushing up on your Song Sparrow and Yellow-rumped Warbler sounds, you might want to listen to a Sora and Virginia Rail recording in case we get lucky. One thing is for sure — we’ll see lots of birds and we’ll have a good time.
Bring your camera and binoculars (and scope if you like) and join us with a full tank of gas if you care to drive.
