Subject: McDonough Refuge--Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Nashville, Kentucky, and a few other warblers
This morning at McDonough in Wood County I found 46 species, so it's still
a week or more away from spring migration peak. Highlights included:

Empidonax Flycatcher--1 near the marshy area below the dam. Silent.
Blue-headed Vireo--2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher--5
Wood Thrush--2
Brown Thrasher--4
Northern Parula--1
Nashville Warbler--1 near the tanager
Hooded Warbler--1 heard only
Kentucky Warbler--1 heard only
Yellow-rumped Warbler--2
White-throated Sparrow--6
Scarlet Tanager--1 male along the grassy side trail off the main trail
uphill from the parking lot.
Rose-breasted Grosbeak--1 male near the shelter at the far end of the
walking loop.
