Subject: Barred Owl in WVU Arboretum
Monday morning, 9 a.m., I took a brief walk from the parking lot down the
steep trail in the Arboretum, enjoying the bluebells and other spring
beauties. I had barely started down the trail when I flushed an owl, which
flew into a tree 50 feet away, affording a great binocular view. It was a
barred owl, first one I've ever seen -- at 9 a.m. on a sunny morning!
