Went to Lyon's Creek Road bridge over Lyon Creek (Geary County) just after
sunset tonight and managed to get Common Poorwill, Chuck-will's-widow
and Eastern Whip-poor-will calling. Of course we also had gobbling Wild
Turkeys, Barred and Great Horned Owls and a few coyote choruses as well.
Last year we managed this same feat on April 23rd. The earliest we've ever
had Chuck-will's-widows is April 14 in 2004.
