David Daniels and I made a whirlwind tour of several spots in Jefferson
County today, with these highlights:

Uvilla Road north of Charles Town:

Cooper's Hawk--1
Fish Crow--2
Brown Thrasher--1
Chipping Sparrow--7
Dark-eyed Junco--1
White-throated Sparrow--2
White-crowned Sparrow--2
Common Grackle--2. All grackles seen today were the purple version.

John Rissler Road:

Common Merganser--6
Double-crested Cormorant--6
Great Blue Heron--2
Green Heron--2
Spotted Sandpiper--3
Belted Kingfisher--1
Warbling Vireo--1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet--3
Cedar Waxwing--4
Prothonotary Warbler--1, near the last 3 trailers on the river side of the
road before the flooded area.
Yellow-rumped Warbler--5
Common Grackle--12

Shepherd's Mill Road:

Loggerhead Shrike--1. Unfortunately, the bird stayed in the field on the
Virginia side of the state line.

Altona Marsh:

Great Blue Heron--1
Virginia Rail--1 heard
American Kestrel--1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet--1
Brown Thrasher--1
White-throated Sparrow--1
