Subject: [VA-bird] Great Falls NP Bird Walk 04/15/2018 (Fairfax County)
Following is the tally from Sunday's weekly bird walk at Great Falls National Park, which included 23 participants and identified approximately 48 species.  Some birds were in particular abundance, to include the scold of Blue Jays, the siege of herons, the gulp of cormorants, the swoop of swallows, and last, but not least, the sheer wonder of warblers.  And let's not forget the four deer.
Also a huge "thank you" to those stalwart folks who braved rapidly deteriorating weather conditions to ensure an accurate count!
The walk meets at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, rain or shine, in front of the snack bar/concession stand of the Great Falls Park visitors' center; it does not take place, though, during electrical storms, heavy snows, or when the trails are icy.  All birders are welcome!
