Subject: [CT Birds] Weekend Outlook
The mild weather and higher temps will be welcome these next couple of days. This will be a result of a strong south-westerly airflow that will carry numbers of migrants into the north-east. Winds are currently straight out of Florida and there is a strong flow up to the Great Lakes which should see them get a good landbird arrival. There will be many FOY arrivals so hang fire with all those postings of hummingbirds and other annual returnees!
The interesting part is the front that will see temps plummet on Sunday bringing rain and east winds. Such bad weather has the potential for some local fall-outs to occur so it will be interesting to see how that develops.
It is the perfect weather and timing for Swallow-tailed Kite (among other things) so keep eyes to the skies.
It has been more than a decade since the last twitchable one,  so good luck and good birding.
