It was Long-tailed Duck day today in Allegheny with reports from the rivers. Four were on the Allegheny River at the Harmar Dam along with 4 Scaup sp. and two American Wigeon. About 50 or so Double-crested Cormorants were roosting in a tree at the Great Blue Heron rookery above the dam. Two Great Egrets were at the marsh in Harmarville behind the Target shopping center.

All were seen during an evening Three Rivers Bird Club outing to observe American Woodcocks. This was the third outing of the season and we saw several birds doing their flight displays.
