All, Birder reports were light this week. The reported species count was 68. Highlights included: 10 duck species including 2 +N. Shoveler 4/4-4/5; 1 Long-tailed Duck 4/7 At least ~25 Wild Turkeys continue displaying at Sailor's Point corn fields Common Loon-high report 6 4/4-4/7 Pied-billed Grebe-high report 2 4/7 Horned Grebe-high report 7 4/7 Double-crested Cormorant - high report 243 4/7 1 Green Heron-late report from last week 3/31 -matches the county early date. Ospreys are regular now 1 N. Harrier 4/2
4 gull species including 31 Lesser Black-backed 4/7 4 Lesser Yellowlegs 4/4 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 4/1 Also, Bald Eagle, Pileated Woodpecker, Golden-crowned & Ruby-crowned Kinglets, E. Bluebird, Hermit Thrush, Cedar Waxwing, Yellow-rumped Warbler, E. Towhee, Field Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow are among the species that were encountered.
The Harris's Sparrow was still present 4/2 at 135 Rickerts Rd., Doylestown Haven't had any reports of the Sandhill Cranes after 3/28. Has anyone seen them?
