Subject: [COBOL] nuthatch holes
Yes, nuthatches and chickadees will both put holes in wood siding. The best
way to deal with it is to put up a nest box with an appropriate sized hole.
(The metal rings around the hole will keep out mice. Place on a southeast
side (which is likely where they are anyway).

Kevin's drop down spider is also a good exclusionary tactic. But living
with them is much more fun.
