Hi Jersey Birders,
Getting out early this am proved very productive.
I was rewarded with Tyto Alba walnutis (Barn Owl) roosting in a cavity.
This subspecies has yet to be fully described but it's very close to status.
It is a diminutive sub-species showing rich brown hues through-out it
plumage's.
It also sports the characteristic "heart" shaped face likes it's big sister
(Tyto Alba).
Although I have seen dried specimens, this is my life bird!
I wish I could share it's roost site but.......
