Randy and I drove to Summer Lake. As reported, there were several thousand snow geese seen there.

Summer Lake:

Red-winged blackbirds – 50
Yellow-headed blackbirds 4
Western Meadowlarks 3
Magpies 3
American White Pelican 8-10
Turkey vulture 1
Greater white-fronted geese 80
Snow geese - 1500+
Tundra swans 20
gadwall 30
Northern Shoveler 30
Pintail 60
Canvasback 1 male
Ringed-neck ducks 60
Bufflehead 150
Ruddy ducks 10
Bald eagles (mature) 2
Northern Harriers – 2 pair
red-tailed hawks 3
prairie falcon 1
California quail 1 covey of 5 plus 1 single
Sora 3 heard, not seen
Sandhill cranes 5
Killdeer 15
great Horned Owls – 1
Northern flickers – in the willow trees! – 4
tree swallow 30
barn swallow 2
Marsh wren 15
Yellow-rumped warbler – 1

Lake Abert:
Northern Shovelers 800!!
plus an assortment of other ducks.

Riley rest area:
3 mountain bluebirds (1 pair)
8-10 cedar waxwings
6 tree swallows

West of Hampton:

mature bald eagles 5

Burns/Hines:
Red-winged blackbirds 32
Magpies 5
Greater white-fronted geese 80
Snow geese (including Ross’) 10,000
Sandhill cranes 16
Long-billed curlew 20
