From Steve Spector, 3/27/18, the Sound is extremely active right now, with large flocks of Long-tailed Ducks and Greater Scaup esp. conspicuous; also large gull congregations (up to 3000 in my neighborhood near Charles Island), with small numbers of Bonaparte's (15 at Oyster River).  In addition to gulls and ducks, many Common and Red-throated Loons, and many Horned Grebes, some of which are attaining alternate plumage.  And for extra excitement, plunging N. Gannets.  (As others have reported, Surf Scoters also around).  Marsh ducks also abundant, as are big concentrations of Brant.  <charsjs...>
