Subject: Red Knots at Atlantic Beach, NC
This morning I saw Red Knots at multiple sites at Atlantic Beach-Fort Macon
State Park.

The largest group was next to Oceanana Pier, where there were 49 birds
together. Of interest, five of these had green flags, and I was able to
read the code on four of these.

I also had a Piping Plover. Considering the location and date, it was
certainly a migrant (and not an overwintering bird).

The single hummingbird that survived the early January cold is still in my
yard.
