Subject: Cheat Lake update
The lake is completely open, but muddy in many areas. Not much at the south
end, but:

Pied-billed Grebe--1 at Sunset Harbor Marina
15 or so ducks way, way north of the I-68 bridge. Likely Ring-necked Ducks
or Scaups, but distance and wave chop precluded identification.
Bufflehead--17, all but 1 north of the bridge

Cheat Lake Park, on the other hand, had a decent variety, but the vast
majority were well past the south trail gate, requiring a lengthy walk:

Canada Goose--4
American Wigeon--3
Ring-necked Duck--87
Lesser Scaup--40
Hooded Merganser--12
Common Merganser--1
Red-breasted Merganser--1
Horned Grebe--1
