Date: 3/8/18 3:46 pm From: Bird observations from western New York <geneseebirds-l...> Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] West Bloomfield Cranes and Shrike
We drove through the Sand and Taft Road area around 5 PM to see if there were any early Short-eared Owls flying around. No luck there. However, along CR 40 south of Olmstead Rd a Northern Shrike was perched on a treetop in the marshy area at the southeast part of the Pheasant Hollow hunt club. Then on Wesley Road about half way between CR 40 and Taft Road, 3 Sandhill Cranes flew up from a field south of Wesley and flew north across the road in front of us toward Sand Road.
