Observation start time: 10:00:00 Observation end time: 14:45:00 Total observation time: 4.75 hours
Official Counter: Greg Lawrence
Visitors: Candy Giles and Andrea Patterson.
Weather: Cold, lighter winds but mostly out of the NW, cloudy with light snow for a while off the lake (not nearly enough for any accumulation), sun tried to peek through around 2. Overall, not conducive to raptor movement
Raptor Observations: One migrant Northern Harrier plus a local Cooper's Hawk an Red-tailed Hawk.
Non-raptor Observations: Northern Shrike put on a show today, and was very vocal, which was cool. Two Red-throated Loons continued, plus a pair of Wood Ducks. Full checklist at: ebird.org/view/checklist/S43407351
Predictions: tomorrow and Wednesday are the only days until the 17th-18th, with any southerly component in the winds. However, winds will mostly be ESE, which still isn't ideal. I'll take it any day over cold NW winds. Likely, next day(s) with potential legitimate movement (SW winds) will be 17th/18th weekend if the weather report is correct (lol), but you never know. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Greg Lawrence (<glawrence21...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
