Subject: [Va-bird] Northern Virginia Bird Club Woodcock Walk at Huntley Meadows
Twenty-six birders were disappointed tonight at the Woodcock walk at Huntley
Meadows. Whether because of recent bad weather or other factors, the birds
were not up for a display tonight. Collectively the group heard a distant
"peent" and a brief wing whirl. That was it. The consolation prize was
that some of us had looks at a few Fox Sparrows and heard the beautiful song
of another.
