Date: 3/4/18 6:15 pm From: Bird observations from western New York <geneseebirds-l...> Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] Tundra Swans--Wilson
Sunday afternoon driving north on Rt 425 just past Ide Rd, I counted 150 Tundra Swans in the field to the west. Most were fairly distant and widely scattered, but a few were in a ditch closer to the road.
Last week on Wednesday, Feb 28, a flock of over 100 swans flew across the QEW as we drove north off the bridge into Burlington. Against broken clouds and blue sky, it was a spectacular sight as they passed overhead in formation at about 300 feet.
