Date: 2/25/18 6:50 am From: Gerry Hawkins <maineusa...> Subject: [MDBirding] Red-necked Grebe, Montgomery County
The continuing Red-necked Grebe was seen with a spotting scope at Riley’s Lock relatively close to the MD shore at Violette’s Lock. Other highlights include 8 Horned Grebes together and 13 species of waterfowl, including both scaup species and at least 50 Redheads and several Canvasbacks upriver from Riley’s Lock. A scope is needed but visibility is good notwithstanding light rain.
