Columbia bottoms

Some of the ponds are filling up and hopefully will attract some waterbirds. This week have seen the following: short eared owls, Eastern towee, eastern phoebe, red shouldered hawk, (mature and immature), red tailed hawk, coopers hawk, sharp shined hawks, horned larks, white crowned sparrows, white throated sparrows, fox sparrow, Eurasian Tree Sparrow, bard owl, bald eagles, pileated woodpecker, red bellied woodpecker, yellow shafted flicker, downy and harry woodpeckers, Northern Cardinals, RW blackbirds, turkey, pine warbler, yellow rumped warbler, American Kestrals, etc. Only a few mallards and pintails.
