In regards to Ebird - Bird fatality data can be extremely valuable and shouldn't be ignored. It seems a simple feature to add to Ebird would be an option under the "Breeding code" drop down to mark it as deceased. This could be set up to exclude the species from the personal lists or any area alerts. Just a thought.
