HIti Texbirders, The winds lessened and the mosquitos flourished. But that's food for the birds, right? Numbers were still low today but, happily, birds were singing. Long-billed Thrashers were perched up serenading everywhere we went today. It was fun watching two Harris's Hawks sitting so close to each other on a branch they looked like one bird ... well, maybe one bird with two tails. Even got to watch one preening the other's head for a while. Guided walks leave the Visitor Center at 8:30 am every day but Sunday. All are welcome.
