Subject: [MASSBIRD] BBC Ipswich trip, Feb. 19, a.m.
Following are the highlights of the BBC trip I led in Ipswich this
morning.  (Correction, yesterday morning.)  We stopped at Biolabs,
several spots on Jeffries Neck, and the river downtown.  Weather sunny
and cold, but warming up.

common eider        950  (probably low)

w-w scoter             34

long-tailed duck    23

bufflehead             23    (plus 2 at town wharf after trip ended)

com. goldeneye     16

red-br. merganser   5    (plus 1 at town wharf after trip ended)

common loon        41

turkey vulture        1    (+1 at town wharf after trip ended)

cooper's hawk        2   (pair of adults at Biolabs, and I think I know
what they were up to)

bald eagle              1 immature at Biolabs

red-tailed hawk     3    (+1 at town wharf after trip ended)

rough-legged hawk    2     (1 dark and 1 light, both over s end of PI
from Neck)

Carolina wren        1 downtown

e, bluebird              9 at Biolabs

n. mockingbird       2

red-w. blackbird     14 singing males at Biolabs, already on territory
